Where are the Abrolhos Islands?
This pristine group of 122 islands lies 60km off the coast of Geraldton in Western Australia, and is the most southern Coral Reef system in the World. The islands are one of the only places in the world where coral reef and sea grass co-exist which provides a home to amazing diversity of marine creature and coral gardens. Dry land is home to over 90 species of Birds, 22 species of Reptiles and the
Tammar Wallaby.
The
northern group of islands are made up of East and West Wallabi Islands. After
landing on East Wallabi Island we make our way to Turtle Bay, this perfect (and
usually deserted) beach is our base for the rest of the day’s activities,
morning tea, a picnic lunch, exploring the island and coast line and snorkeling
the coral gardens with tropical fish just meters from the beach.
